Siblings-Kenny n' Karen

"Nnnyyyy...Keeennnyyyyy."

Kenny's blue eyes opened slightly at the sound of his name being called. His gaze was met with a small, hazy form right in front of his face, he could make out their scared, wide brown eyes. Kenny closed his eyes again with a grunt. "Karen, go back to your bed." he grumbled. Karen McCormick frowned at her older brother, shoving her stuffed pink bunny in his face.

"Kenny, I had a bad dream!" she practically wailed, Kenny winced. Not for the sake of anyone else in the house waking up, but his poor ear that was right next to his shaking sister.

"Then go to ma, dummy."

"I can't, Kenny. She and daddy aren't home."

Kenny groaned, and telling her to go to Kevin was definatly out of the question. "What was the bad dream now?" he sighed, covering his hand over his eyes. Karen hugged her bunny close giving a dramatic sniff. "The boogyman." she replied. Kenny snorted, but then got a good slap on the face with Karen's stuffed animal.

"Christ, Karen. There ain't no boogyman." Kenny said looking back to her. Karen wasn't buying it and began to shake more, tears pooling in her eyes. "K-Kevin told me that he ate you the other night."

Kenny frowned glaring at his door. He said a few words he shouldn't say around Karen and then sighed scooting over and lifted the sheets. "Hop in, but the second ya kick me I'm takin' ya back your bed and gluin' ya there."

Karen instantly crawled in next to her older brother laying down, hugging her doll. Kenny sighed lifting her head up, pushing the one pillow under her head and the laid back down himself, resting his head on his arm. "Sleep, Karen." he ordered closing his eyes. It was a whole five seconds till he opened his eyes again feeling Karen's tiny fingers poking him,

"What?" Kenny hissed. Karen frowned. "I can't sleep. Sing to me, Kenny?"

"No."

"Kenny! I can't sleep and mommy always sings to me before I go to sleep and-!"

Kenny slapped a hand over her mouth. "You are my sunshine." he sang, well, hissed lowly, glaring at her. Karen stared at him. Kenny sighed easing his voice, "My only sunshine, you make me happy when the skies are gray..." He sang, Karen eased herself closing her eyes. "you'll never know dear, how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away..."

Kenny moved his hand away watching Karen still form for a moment, waving a hand before her face. She kept sleeping silently. Kenny turned to face the wall, closing his own eyes.

"Night, Kenny."

Kenny smiled slightly. "Night, Kare-bear."
